On 21 November 2025, the annual meeting of the MediPIET Alumni Network (MediAN) took place in Warsaw during the ESCAIDE 2025 conference. The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen cooperation within the network, present its goals, current work and future direction. Introductions and introductions of the participants were made by representatives of ECDC and MediAN. An overview of the MediAN network, an update on the terms and conditions of membership, the network's position, and methods of communication, including the MediAN newsletter, were presented. Participants discussed recent achievements and future activities of the network. Scientific papers by MediPIET and ECDC Fellowship alumni were presented, including topics such as Hepatitis B surveillance in Armenia (2023-2024), the high prevalence of Escherichia coli O26:H11 and O103:H2 in Latvia in March and April 2025, infection prevention and control in Romanian hospitals, and drivers of reluctance to vaccinate against COVID-19 in Kukës, Albania. The meeting strengthened collaboration between alumni and partners and opened the way for further development of the MediAN network. The MediPIET Alumni Network is committed to further strengthening public health capacity in the region and supporting training initiatives in epidemiology.
