Doctors are seeing a higher incidence of breast cancer in younger women than current screening recommendations suggest. Many of these cases are invasive and more difficult to treat, especially in women under 40. Analysis of 11 years of data showed that the younger age group accounts for a stable and significant proportion of diagnosed cases. The results of the study support the need for earlier breast cancer risk assessment in younger women. Breast cancer in younger women is often more aggressive and has a poorer prognosis. The incidence of breast cancer in women under 50 is increasing by 1.4 percent per year. In recent years, the number of cases in the group of women aged 25-45 has also been increasing. The study recommends considering earlier initiation of preventive measures and screening.
