Nursing staff workloads are increasing in long-term care facilities, necessitating effective workplace health promotion programs. The Healthy Cares for Health (HCCH) pilot project aims to develop a program based on Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine (TCIM). A needs assessment was conducted using a qualitative Rapid Participatory Assessment (RPA) with 19 participants of different occupations, ages and genders. The obtained data were analyzed by deductive-inductive content analysis and verified with the target group. The main challenges included insufficient breaks, physical and mental stress, unhealthy eating and exercise habits. However, staff also demonstrated their own resources and strategies, including the use of TCIM such as breathing exercises. The results provide the basis for a contextually tailored health promotion program based on TCIM. A participatory approach ensures staff involvement and promotes program sustainability.
