Spinal infection caused by Aspergillus terreus is rare, especially in immunocompetent patients. The article describes the case of a 52-year-old woman who was diagnosed with this infection after a delay caused by nonspecific symptoms and unclear imaging findings. Treatment with voriconazole, a targeted antifungal agent with proven efficacy against Aspergillus spp., led to a significant improvement in clinical status and imaging parameters. This case highlights the need to consider fungal infection even in patients with normal immunity when spinal infection is suspected. Early diagnosis and individualized antifungal treatment are key to a successful outcome. Voriconazole is approved for the treatment of invasive aspergillosis and is also effective in resistant forms of infection[1][3][6].
