Nathaniel John Spencer, a 38-year-old doctor from Quinton, Birmingham, is accused of sexually assaulting 38 patients while working at two NHS hospitals between 2017 and 2021. He faces 45 charges, including 15 counts of sexual assault, 17 counts of assault by penetration, nine counts of sexual assault on a child under 13, three counts of assault on a child by penetration and one count of attempted assault by penetration. The alleged offenses took place at Royal Stoke University Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley, West Midlands. The investigation was described as comprehensive and was being led by Staffordshire Police. Nathaniel Spencer is scheduled to appear in court on January 20. Prosecutors stressed that there was enough evidence to prosecute and that these were serious sex crimes, including assaults on children. In case of any concerns, patients can contact the special line of the hospital or the police[1][2].
