One Health (OH) is a concept that has gained support from health organizations, academics and policy makers worldwide and emphasizes the interconnectedness of human, animal and environmental health. In 2024, the North American One Health University Network (NAOHUN) focused on analyzing OH education programs using a SWOT analysis, involving representatives from more than 90 universities and partner agencies. Participants assessed the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of OH educational programs at various levels, from undergraduate to graduate and professional programs. The results showed growth in the number and variety of these programs and increased interest from future trainers, but also identified challenges in program management, maintaining collaboration and marketing skills to employers. The discussions helped to better understand the factors that influence the design and delivery of OH education. This knowledge will serve to ensure the sustainability and relevance of training programs and to create generally accepted competences in the field of OH for members of the NAOHUN network.
