New evidence suggests that a daily multivitamin may help some older adults keep their blood pressure under control. This effect is especially true in those who are eating less well and had normal blood pressure readings to begin with. The overall results showed no general benefit for all. However, there was an improvement in the target groups. This suggests that micronutrient deficiencies may play a role in hypertension risk. Thus, multivitamins quietly lower blood pressure in selected elderly people.
