This is a correction to the article "Ionizing radiation and cardiovascular disease: a systematic review and meta-analysis" by Little and colleagues (BMJ 2023;380:e074224). In a study by Chen et al. (2019) used incorrect data for ERR/Gy, which was corrected based on cardiac events ≥3 instead of all-cause mortality. Using cardiac dose, the corrected ERR/Gy is 0.756 (95% CI -0.397 to 4.108). Using the left ventricular dose, the ERR/Gy is 0.044 (95% CI -0.679 to 2.399). In a study by Kashcheev et al. (2017) ERR/Gy data for ischemic heart disease were overlooked: 0.42 (95% CI 0.25 to 0.60). For heart disease other than coronary heart disease, the ERR/Gy is 0.36 (95% CI 0.14 to 0.59). These values supersede previous data from a meta-analysis for the same endpoints in an earlier cohort from 2006 and 2007. Analyzes have been updated to reflect these changes.
