A new modeling study from RespiCompass, the ECDC-coordinated European center for respiratory disease modeling, investigated the impact of influenza vaccination and COVID-19. The study suggests that vaccination programs have significantly reduced hospital admissions among older adults across Europe. This effect was manifested in the 2024/25 season. The analysis focuses on respiratory diseases such as influenza and COVID-19. Vaccines thus helped limit the burden on hospitals in this risk group. The study confirms the positive impact of vaccination campaigns on public health.
