The study evaluated the effects of point application of Evodiae Fructus in combination with psychocardiological nursing on patients with coronary heart disease after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). The randomized controlled trial included 82 patients, with 41 in the study group receiving combined therapy and 41 in the control group receiving only conventional care. The primary outcomes were sleep quality measured by the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and quality of life by the Chinese Cardiovascular Quality of Life Questionnaire (CQQC). The study group performed significantly better: a lower PSQI total score (group difference -5.56; 95% CI: -7.91 to -3.21; p < 0.001) and a higher CQQC score (difference 18.45; 95% CI; p = 0.001). Cardiac function (LVEF, LVEDD, LVESD, LVEDV) improved similarly in both groups without significant difference (eg, LVEF difference -1.85; 95% CI: -5.42 to 1.73; p = 0). Satisfaction with nursing was higher in the study group (97.56% vs. 90.24%; p = 0.023), while adverse reactions were not significantly different (19.5% vs. 9.8%; p = 0.322). The combined approach did not provide additional short-term benefits for cardiac function.
