Spanish scientists have created a new open-source software called RNACOREX that reveals the hidden genetic networks involved in cancer. RNACOREX can simultaneously analyze thousands of molecular interactions, mapping how genes communicate with each other in tumors. The tool was tested on data from 13 different types of cancer. RNACOREX predictably matches the power of advanced artificial intelligence systems. At the same time, it provides interpretable and comprehensible explanations of the mechanisms that show scientists why tumors behave in certain ways. The software is publicly available as open source, allowing it to be used and verified by other researchers.
