The second WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine, hosted with the Government of India in New Delhi, was attended by more than 16,000 registered participants and 800 delegates from over 100 countries, including ministers from more than 20 countries. Participants endorsed the WHO Global Strategy for Traditional Medicine 2025-2034, aimed at strengthening health systems with safe and evidence-based care. WHO launched the Global Traditional Medicine Library with 1.6 million resources, including the artificial intelligence-based TMGL GPT tool. The Health & Heritage Innovations (H2I) initiative announced 21 finalists out of more than 1,000 projects for an accelerator program supported by technologies such as AI and genomics. A Strategic and Technical Advisory Group STAG-TM was formed with 19 experts on priorities such as evidence, knowledge preservation and digital innovation. 26 member states signed the Delhi Declaration on Integrating Traditional Medicine into Primary Care, Regulation and Research. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said traditional medicine helps address non-communicable diseases, unequal access to services and climate change.
