Scientists have created tiny metal-based particles that kill cancer cells while sparing healthy cells. These nanoparticles push cancer cells to the edge, leaving healthy cells mostly unharmed. They work by increasing the internal stress in the cancer cells until they trigger their own shutdown process. In laboratory tests, they destroyed cancer cells much more effectively than healthy cells. This technology is still in the early stages of development. It opens the door to more precise and gentle cancer treatments.
