As of January 1, 2026, the screening program for colon cancer is changing and will be extended to insured patients aged 45-74 years due to an increase in incidence in patients aged 45 years and older[1][2]. A new code for cancer care planning is being introduced, including time for notification of diagnosis, explanation of treatment, and screening[1]. Comprehensive cancer centers will have cancer care coordinators provided by specialists[1]. Psychosomatic intervention is complemented by psychosomatic consultation, which assesses biological, psychological and social factors in patients with recurrent difficulties unresponsive to conventional treatment[1][2]. The General Health Insurance Fund will support healthy lifestyles with CZK 2.26 billion, an increase of 6% compared to 2025, and will provide CZK 1,500 for diabetes education and CZK 300 for influenza vaccination for adults[2]. Preventive checkups will be more detailed with expanded laboratory and other examinations[2]. Insurance companies will reimburse for white filling and root canal treatment, the patient can pay extra for other treatments[2]. New procedures such as digital cognitive behavioural therapy and remote monitoring of Parkinson's patients are also being introduced[2].
