The study investigated the effects of platelet-rich plasma gel (PRP) on vaginal stump healing after laparoscopic hysterectomy in 100 patients from December 2022 to August 2024. The group of patients who received PRP glue applied together with a classic suture showed higher grade A healing rates and lower bleeding and granulation rates compared to the control group. One month after surgery, the PRP group had a greater number of patients with a normal vaginal environment (purity grade I-II), lower pH values, and lower positive rates of infectious markers. The overall pathogen infection rate was lower in the PRP group than in the control group. Three days after surgery, the PRP group also had lower levels of inflammatory markers (CRP, IL-6, IL-11, IL-21, IL-2) and lower levels of immune receptors (TLR4 and MBL). However, the authors emphasize that more research is needed to fully understand the mechanisms and confirm the long-term effects.
