Menopausal symptoms are common among endurance athletes and often interfere with training and performance. A survey of women aged 40-60 who exercise regularly found high rates of sleep problems, exhaustion, anxiety, weight gain and joint pain. Many female athletes reported that these symptoms made it difficult to train effectively or perform at their best. The results of the survey point to the need to pay more attention to menopause in active women. Menopausal symptoms also occur in elite endurance athletes. These problems affect the quality of training and sports performance.
