Children who received the 2- and 4-month doses of common childhood vaccines late were most likely to have received no measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccination by age 2 years. This finding comes from a large cohort study conducted in the US. A study showed that delayed primary vaccines predicted the risk of missing the MMR vaccine. Children with late primary vaccines were more likely to miss MMR altogether by 2 years of age. Research highlights the link between delays in timely vaccines and later vaccination against measles, mumps and rubella. The study was published on MedPage Today.
