Intimate partner violence (IPV) against women and sexual violence against children (SVAC) are causally linked to a range of health problems. Previous efforts to quantify the global burden of these violence have been hampered by data limitations. Collaborators present an expanded picture of the health burden of IPV and SVAC. They used advanced Global Burden of Disease (GBD) methodologies to improve prevalence estimates. These estimates provide a significantly better picture of the global health impact. The article presents a call to action to address this issue.
