Older patients regain strength and sensation at a similar rate to younger patients. However, aging affects the recovery of everyday abilities such as walking, mobility and self-care. Older people perform worse in these areas. The study confirms that the nervous system recovers relatively steadily after injury regardless of age. These findings highlight the difference between neurological healing and functional recovery.
