The article examines the role status, responsibilities and career development of nurses in clinical research in developed and developing countries, with China as an example. Clinical research nurses are key members of multidisciplinary research teams and their status, responsibilities and career development influence the quality of clinical trials in relation to the standardization of this industry. It compares current nursing practices in clinical research between developed and developing countries. It analyzes the differences in the perception of their roles, division of duties and career paths. She studies the barriers affecting the career development of these nurses in China.
