A cross-sectional study suggests that COVID-19 continued to have a major impact on the US population and health care system even after the state of emergency declaration ended in May 2023. The study analyzed data from October 2022 to September 2023. COVID-19 is taking a toll especially among older adults. These findings confirm the continued impact of the disease despite policy changes.
