After a bout of suspected Covid-19 in 2023, the author developed a chest infection and began experiencing severe shortness of breath. Doctors diagnosed him with inducible laryngeal obstruction and interstitial lung disease, prescribed inhalers and sent him home. A year later, he was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia, where his oxygen saturation was 66%. Treatment with oxygen and intravenous antibiotics worked quickly. Examinations revealed that the lungs were functioning at approximately half their expected capacity, with opacification, inflammation, bronchiectasis, and scarring. The author also experienced all-over itching, painful cracked skin on the fingers, Raynaud's phenomenon, sensitive larynx and dysphonia lasting several months. On the surface, there seemed to be no connection between the symptoms. The author began to research them in detail, despite the advice not to look for information online.
