The STAT analysis compared recommended vaccination schedules in 38 countries and showed that the US differs significantly from them in its schedule. While many countries have simplified or expanded their vaccination schedules in recent years, the US has maintained specific vaccine combinations and dose timings that often do not match those of other states. The US is an exception, especially in which vaccines and at what age they recommend, with timing differing by several years for several diseases. The differences concern, for example, the number of doses of some vaccinations and the age at which the first or booster dose is recommended. In some cases, the US recommends more doses or earlier vaccination than most compared countries, while in others, on the contrary, some vaccines are missing from the routine calendar. As a result, the US national vaccination program is rated as an outlier in international comparisons – that is, significantly different from the prevailing model in other developed countries.
