Rachel Clarke recalls writing a children's book, All About Me, in primary school, in which she said she wanted to be a writer when she grew up. As an adult, she fulfilled this plan and is the author of four books. Her book "The Story of the Heart", which describes a heart transplant from one child to another, won the 2025 UK Women's Prize for Non-Fiction. Clarke splits her work time evenly between writing and working as a palliative care doctor in the UK.
