The sixteenth outbreak of Ebola virus disease was declared on September 4, 2025 in the Bulape Health Zone in the DR Congo.[1] This outbreak underscores the continued vulnerability of healthcare providers during the onset of epidemics.[1] By 30 November 2025, 64 cases (53 confirmed, 11 probable) had been reported, including 45 deaths, for a case fatality rate of 70.3%.[1] Five cases were among healthcare workers (four nurses and one laboratory technician), three of whom died.[1] The epicenters of the epidemics were in the areas of Dikolo (26 cases, 15 deaths) and Bulape (24 cases, 22 deaths), accounting for 78.1% of all cases and 82.2% of deaths.[1] Outbreaks have included nosocomial transmission and a high-risk funeral mass with high mortality in young children.[1] No new confirmed cases have been reported since the last confirmed case on September 25, 2025.[1]
