A study of more than a million people in England showed reluctance to get vaccinated against covid decreased over time. Most people who initially hesitated had concerns that could be addressed and overcome in time. However, mistrust persisted in a small group with a lack of trust, a low perception of personal risk, and anti-vaccination sentiment. Researchers analyzed data from a survey of 1.1 million adults from January 2021 to March 2022 and compared it with NHS vaccination records up to May 2024. A total of 3.3% of participants, or 37,982 people, reported vaccine hesitancy. Of the 24,229 hesitant people who agreed to link NHS data, two-thirds, or 15,744 (65%), had received one or more vaccinations.
