According to the GRAfT cohort study, non-invasive diagnosis of allograft rejection after heart transplantation may be possible using microRNA assays. The tests are performed on the basis of microRNA sequencing from blood samples. The study suggests that such tests could be used to detect heart transplant rejection without invasive methods. The results come from the analysis of samples obtained at the relevant time after transplantation.
