Michael David McKee, a 39-year-old vascular surgeon from Chicago, was arrested Saturday in Winnebago County, Illinois, for the double murder.[1][2] He is accused of killing his ex-wife Monique Tepe, 39, and her husband, dentist Spencer Tepe, 37, at their home in Weinland Park, Columbus, Ohio.[1][3] The victims body with gunshot wounds was found by police around 10 a.m. on December 30 after a welfare check because Spencer Tepe had failed to show up for work.[1][3] The couple were probably killed between 2 and 5 am on the second floor of the house.[4] Their two young children under the age of 5 were found unharmed in the house.[3][4] Police identified McKee through surveillance footage from the area that captured his vehicle arriving before and leaving shortly after the murders; the car was found in Rockford.[1][4] McKee and Monique Tepe married in 2015 and divorced in 2017, with no children.[1][3] He holds valid medical licenses in Illinois and California and received his medical degree from Ohio State University.[2]
