Three new reference laboratories of the European Union are currently operating. These laboratories aim to improve Europe's response to health threats linked to foodborne and waterborne diseases. They help national public health laboratories improve testing. They also improve data quality. They support preparedness across the EU. It will last for the next seven years.[1]
