Brief, factual summary of the medical article in Slovak: The article deals with the issue of pathological shopping, also known as shopaholism. This problem was already described in 1899 by the German psychiatrist Emil Kraepelin. Today, oniomania, i.e. the morbid desire to shop, is considered a form of addiction. The article presents 4 simple preventive strategies that can be applied in regular medical practice. It also informs about new knowledge in the field of mountain medicine and its potential use outside the mountain environment. In the end, there is information about the opening of a new robotic operating theater in Bulovka Hospital in Prague.
