A report by the National Audit Office (NAO) says the UK government's target to rebuild seven hospitals built largely from unsafe concrete is unlikely to be met. The target will be moved forward by several years from 2030 to 2032. The government's "reset" of the program in January last year created a more realistic timetable than the original 2020 plan. The program includes 41 hospital schemes, including new buildings and major refurbishments, which will be implemented in four waves over the next 20 years. A further five schemes were completed and opened for program update in January. The overall program is on firmer footing, according to the report. The report was published on January 16.
