Food companies are targeting a growing group of Americans who take weight-loss drugs such as semaglutide (Wegovy) and tirzepatide (Zepbound) and offering them foods labeled "GLP-1 Friendly"[5]. Conagra Brands added this label to 26 of its Healthy Choice frozen meals in early 2025 and received approval from the US Department of Agriculture[5]. Similarly, other brands have joined the field – Smoothie King launched a "GLP-1 Support Menu", companies such as Factor offer "GLP-1 Balance", and French yogurt maker Lactalis started selling Ratio Pro Fiber yogurt with 20 grams of protein and 10 grams of fiber per serving[5]. Restaurant chains Chipotle and Shake Shack have also introduced new high-protein items designed for GLP-1 drug users[5]. However, the USDA emphasized that there is no regulatory standard for the term "GLP-1 Friendly"[5]. The products are characterized by a high content of protein, fiber and controlled portions with a low content of sugar and refined carbohydrates[3]. Interestingly, 77 percent of Vital Pursuit brand sales come from households where no one is taking GLP-1 medications, indicating a broader interest in these products[5].
