On May 3, 2025, at 4:50 a.m., the author was awakened by the sounds of bombs falling nearby, helicopters overhead, and people screaming around. The bombing lasted about an hour. The author was afraid for his life and the lives of people around him. After the attack ended, he reached the Doctors Without Borders hospital by boat, where he found a burning pharmacy. Bullets and pieces of exploding weapons were everywhere. The MSF team and local people extinguished the fire with buckets of water. The fuel tanks were only a few meters away from the fire.
