A large population-based study from Japan has shown that children of older mothers are less likely to develop allergic conditions at an early age. Compared to children of mothers aged 25-29 at the time of delivery, children of older mothers had a lower incidence of food allergy. The study analyzed allergies in early childhood. Older maternal age at delivery is associated with a lower risk of allergies in children. Research has confirmed this relationship in a large population sample.
