In children with obstructive sleep apnea, repeated 6-week courses of intranasal saline have resolved symptoms in many. This treatment worked similarly to switching to an intranasal steroid in persistent cases. The MIST+ study was randomized. Intranasal saline was administered intranasally. Many children had complete resolution of their symptoms. The study proved the effectiveness of this method against sleep apnea in children.
