A large cohort study analyzed birth outcomes before and after adding fluoride to water. There was no association between water fluoridation and birth weight of newborns. The study included more than 11 million singleton births. The results showed no effect of fluoridation on birth weight. The analysis compared data from the periods before and after the introduction of fluoridation. The study was published on MedPage Today.
