The study examined the incidence of post-covid syndrome in women who contracted the coronavirus during pregnancy in Denmark between March 2020 and November 2021. Of the 920 women included in the analysis, 69.1% had at least one symptom of post-covid syndrome, and 50.1% had symptoms lasting eight or more weeks after infection. The most common symptoms were fatigue, change in smell and taste, and hair loss, with most occurring within the first four weeks. The median duration of symptoms ranged from 4 to 40 weeks, with forgetfulness lasting the longest. Women who had symptoms during acute infection were more likely to report symptoms of post-covid syndrome. However, the study did not find an association between the severity of the disease or the trimester of infection and the subsequent development of post-covid syndrome.
