Former neonatal nurse Lucy Letby will not face any further charges of murder or attempted murder. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) announced the decision. Letby is serving a life sentence after being convicted of murdering seven children and attempting to murder another seven at the Countess of Chester Hospital. Police were investigating other deaths and collapses of babies at the hospital and one death at Liverpool Women's Hospital, where she trained. Police submitted files to CPS in relation to the nine babies. Cheshire Constabulary disagrees with the CPS decision and believes the evidence met the standard for a charge.
