People with a spinal cord injury often lose movement, although their brain is still sending the correct signals. The researchers tested whether EEG brain scans could pick up these signals. Signals are redirected to spinal stimulators. The system recognizes when the patient tries to move. Finer motion control remains a challenge. The researchers hope that future improvements will turn intention into action.
