Hemifacial spasm (HFS) is a neurological disorder with involuntary twitching of the facial muscles on one side of the face. A 60-year-old cervical cancer patient developed severe twitching of the right facial muscles after chemotherapy, which interfered with her daily activities. The patient was diagnosed with HFS and started electroacupuncture (EA) treatment. After 15 sessions of EA, symptoms improved significantly. The twitching of the facial muscles has completely disappeared. This case report suggests that EA may be an effective alternative treatment for chemotherapy-induced HFS.
