ECDC is launching a new Accession Support Action for EU candidate countries and potential candidate countries.[1] The aim is to strengthen capacities in the field of communicable diseases.[1] The action will help implement the EU acquis in disease surveillance.[1] It includes preparedness for public health emergencies.[1] It supports the improvement of One Health responses against antimicrobial resistance.[1] The program will run in 2026–2029.[1] These countries are thus preparing to participate in ECDC networks and systems.[4]
