Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic nonspecific inflammatory disease with an unclear pathogenesis for which there is no definitive clinical treatment. Počet prípadov UC sa v posledných rokoch celosvetovo zvýšil v dôsledku industrializácie a spoločenských tlakov. Súčasná terapeutická účinnosť liečby UC zostáva kontroverzná. Previous studies have found a close relationship between human gut microbes and UC, which may serve as the most important benchmark for clinical assessment. Mnoho štúdií spája UC s narušením črevného mikrobiómu, čo predstavuje jednu z najdôležitejších vlastností ochorenia. This work provides an overview of the clinical characteristics, pathogenesis and current treatment strategies of UC, as well as the interaction between gut flora and UC and its therapeutic effects. Cieľom je poskytnúť referenciu pre prevenciu a liečbu UC.
