A UK-French plan to deport "illegal" migrants to France "deliberately harms" detained migrants who are survivors of torture and human trafficking, according to a report by the charity Medical Justice. Organizacja provides the Ministry of the Interior with independent clinical health assessments of people in immigration detention. Of the 20 detainees, only 4 hours after arriving in the system, the general practitioner received a report about the likelihood of harm to health due to detention, although this is legally required. The report also found that 12 out of 20 people had suicidal thoughts. One detainee attempted suicide and two self-harmed in custody. However, only one detainee had a security report of suspected suicidal intent created, as required.
