Researchers have developed smart nanoparticles that can seek out and destroy disease proteins that the human body cannot normally remove. Unlike traditional drugs, these nanoparticles can reach hard-to-reach tissues, including the brain, and precisely target problematic proteins. Nanoparticles are able to destroy proteins linked to dementia and cancer without widespread side effects. Early research results are promising and suggest the potential of this technology to treat these serious diseases. The platform is designed to be easily adapted to many different diseases. This work could significantly change the future of precision medicine and open up new treatment options for diseases that have been difficult to treat until now.
