A man who posed as an FBI agent turned himself in to a federal prison in New York on Wednesday night. He claimed to the police that he had a warrant to release Luigi Mangione. That man, Mark Anderson, is also now in jail, authorities said. Luigi Mangione is charged with the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, which occurred on December 4, 2024 outside a Manhattan hotel. Mangione remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. In court on December 23, 2024, he pleaded not guilty to all charges. His next court hearing is scheduled for February 21, 2025. He faces life in prison without parole if convicted of first-degree murder.[1]
