Up to four out of ten cancers worldwide could be prevented, according to a new global analysis by the World Health Organization (WHO) and its International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC).[1][3] Study examines 30 preventable causes of cancer.[1] These include tobacco, alcohol, high body mass index, physical inactivity, air pollution and ultraviolet radiation.[1] For the first time, the analysis also includes nine cancer-causing infections.[1] These risk factors make it possible to prevent a significant proportion of cancer cases globally.[1]
