Preventive vaccination against cholera will resume after the global vaccine supply reaches a critical milestone. The first such campaign in more than three years is being launched in Mozambique. Further campaigns are planned in Bangladesh and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. These measures respond to previous vaccine shortages that led to restrictions on dosing. The World Health Organization and partners recommended temporarily using only one dose instead of the standard two. The renewal of vaccination will enable better prevention in risk areas. By 2026, cholera vaccines are approved and available in various countries.[8][9][10]
