On 26 January 2025, the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) supported the organization of a simulation exercise (SIMEX) in Malta.[1] The exercise was aimed at an outbreak of a vector-borne disease.[1] The goal was to strengthen national preparedness and response to infectious disease outbreaks.[1] ECDC thus helped Malta improve the country's preparedness.[1] The simulation took place in the context of ECDC's support to Member States in the area of emergency preparedness.[1] This type of exercise helps test and improve coordination mechanisms.[1]
