The CHOICE-2 trial from Spain provided further randomized data in favor of intra-arterial (IA) alteplase after successful mechanical thrombectomy in patients with acute ischemic stroke. A stronger case can be made for the use of IA alteplase after mechanical thrombectomy (EVT). The study supports this approach based on multiple randomized data. The results were presented at a meeting in New Orleans, according to MedPage Today. The range of stroke trial tips further favors IA lytics after EVT.
