People who switch to a completely unprocessed diet eat smarter and naturally pile more fruits and vegetables on their plate. Research from the University of Bristol shows that avoiding ultra-processed foods leads to eating 50% more food by weight. At the same time, they consume hundreds of calories less per day, namely 330 calories. This change happens without reducing the portions of meals. Whole foods trigger built-in "nutritional intelligence." It forces people to choose foods rich in nutrients with a low calorie content.
